After a Successful Inaugural Fair, FORM MIAMI Has Earned its Reputation as a ‘Must See’ During Miami Art Week
Chicago, IL (January 8, 2018) – A month after closing the doors of its debut fair, FORM MIAMI is still generating buzz among the art crowd that attended. Gallerists, artists and art lovers alike vowed to return next year to experience the highly curated fair, which focused solely on the applied arts and sculptural objects. Significant sales, high profile attendees and lauded live performances were all indicators of Art Week’s next great institution in the making. The four-day fair took place at the Emanuel Luxury venue, steps from Art Basel, in Miami Beach.
“We are pleased with the launch of FORM MIAMI,” said Show Director and Vice President of the Art Group for Urban Expositions, Donna Davies. “We have planted a flag, having found a home with an incredible location, and an ideal layout for our intimate exhibitions, in the epicenter of Art Week.” She continued, “FORM’s success proved that there is a definite market for this type of art in Miami and we look forward to building on this momentum in 2018.”
Positive feedback was shared by exhibiting galleries, artists and attendees alike.
Jim Schantz, Owner and Director of Schantz Galleries Contemporary Glass in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, shared, “We were very pleased with the results of the inaugural FORM MIAMI exhibition. We had a great response to the new sculpture by Bertil Vallien.” He continued, “The combination of intimate scale and proximity to Art Basel are a winning combination.”
“I enjoyed every minute,” commented renowned artist, Cristobal Valecillos, represented by The McLoughlin Gallery, in San Francisco. “The location was not only very convenient but beautiful, the crowd, the people in charge, all wonderful. I had a great experience and met very interesting characters and potential clients.” He continued, “Not being an oversize show gave visitors the chance to digest and enjoy what they saw better.”
“The hidden gem of Art Week,” exclaimed Iris Weinberg, an art collector from New York City. “We have been attending Art Week annually for years. FORM is by far the most exciting addition to the Miami art scene in a very long time.”
FORM MIAMI’s 2018 fair will run Thursday to Sunday, December 6th to 9th with a VIP Preview on Wednesday, December 5th. The fair will again be located at 1723 Washington Avenue in Miami Beach.
